ABOUT US
Our philosophy at The Den is to reuse and recycle where possible. Green electricity is generated from our on-site wind turbine. Much of the wood used in the construction of building was obtained from our local village hall which was demolished in order to build a new hall. Even our outdoor shower and toilet was once the original porch of the Station Master's house. We try to keep as local as possible - our logs are sourced from a local supplier with a sustainable timber source and The Den has a heat recovery system in place. Of course whilst not everything can be recyclable, we aim to keep The Den's carbon footprint
to a minimum.
THE DEN
We aim to make your stay at The Den as comfortable as possible. If you have any requirements which you may have missed, please contact us prior to booking and we will endeavour to assist.
The Den has 3 Kingsize bed pods, so comfortably sleeps up to 6 people.
The maximum sleeping capacity is 6 people (including children). This is to be compliant with our safety and insurance regulations. Sorry we do not allow tents/caravans/motorhomes.
We allow well behaved dogs at our discretion, please inform us at the time of booking.
Dogs are charged at £20 per dog per stay. Maximum of 2 dogs.
The Den is hired as a single rental, with a minimum of a 3 night stay during the summer season (1st April to 31st October).
Please ensure that you have checked out by 10am on the day of departure. So that we can clean The Den for our guests we ask that the earliest arrival time of guests is 4pm.
We have parking for a maximum of 3 vehicles.

Duvets, Pillows, Bed Linen, and towels are all provided.
WOOD FIRED HOT TUB
We have a wood fired hot tub for our guests to enjoy. As with many aspects of The Den it is a result of upcycling. The tub was originally electrically operated but had developed faults so become redundant at its former home. We have converted it to wood heating which not only makes its operation more straightforward, but also more sustainable and environmental friendly.
HUSTHWAITE GATE HONESTY SHOP
We also have a small honesty shop/reception within our grounds, which offers a serve yourself hot/cold refreshments, a selection of snacks/chocolate, pick and mix sweets and range of ice creams.
